Terms of Use
Last updated: June 2026 · Courtesy translation — the German version is binding
1. Scope and provider
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the Schwitz app (iOS and watchOS) provided by Marco Kleine-Böhme, ventuno labs, Brahmsallee 18, 20144 Hamburg, Germany (“we”). The app is obtained through the Apple App Store; the Apple Media Services terms apply in addition.
2. Description of the service
Schwitz is an app for recording sauna sessions and recovery data (phases, rounds, Aufguss infusions, heart rate, journal). The core features are free to use. Extended features (“Schwitz Pro”) — in particular statistics and history beyond 30 days, heart rate recovery analysis and unlimited custom presets — are paid.
Using heart rate features requires an Apple Watch and your permission for the corresponding Apple Health access.
3. Schwitz Pro — subscriptions and one-time purchase
Schwitz Pro is available as:
- Monthly subscription (auto-renewing)
- Yearly subscription (auto-renewing, possibly with an introductory offer for the first year)
- Lifetime one-time purchase (permanent unlock, not a subscription)
The prices in effect are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy. The purchase is billed to your Apple Account.
Renewal and cancellation: Subscriptions renew automatically for the respective term unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; periods you have already paid for remain usable.
4. Health notice
Schwitz is not a medical device and does not replace medical advice, diagnosis or monitoring. The values shown (in particular heart rate and the heart rate alert) are for information only and may be inaccurate or delayed.
Sauna use and cold exposure are at your own risk. If you have a pre-existing condition — in particular cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure or pregnancy — consult a doctor before using a sauna or cold bath. Stop a session immediately if you feel unwell and seek medical help if you have symptoms.
5. Rights of use
By downloading the app you receive a simple, non-transferable right to use it privately on devices linked to your Apple Account. Copying, modifying or decompiling beyond what is permitted by law is not allowed.
6. Availability and changes
We continue to develop Schwitz and may change, add or discontinue features to the extent this is reasonable for you and contractually promised core functions are not removed. There is no entitlement to uninterrupted availability of individual third-party services (e.g. iCloud, Apple Health).
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health. In cases of simple negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains unaffected.
8. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the state in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. If individual provisions are invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
Information on the right of withdrawal can be found in the Right of Withdrawal, and information on data processing in the Privacy Policy.
